The best Pixi skincare products & why you need them
Look, we know skin care can be a hard one. With so many different products that you absolutely have to be using, it can get expensive. But let us introduce you to our current favourite: Pixi Skincare.
You might have already seen the aesthetically pleasing bottles floating around on Instagram - but guess what, they actually work! And they have a pretty reasonable price tag as well. Brainchild of makeup artist, Petra Strand, the aim of Pixi is to make women look like themselves… but better! With an emphasis on bringing out natural beauty (they're also cruelty-free) and helping women on the go (she’s a mother of four), you’ll find that Pixi’s product range is no-fuss, uncomplicated and easy to use.
That being said, there are quite a few products to choose from, so we thought we'd single out some of the best Pixi skincare products we can't live without - and that we think you should have in your life too.
Overview:
4 of the best Pixi skincare products to add to your routine
1. Pixi Glow Tonic
Probably the product they’re best known for, the Glow Tonic is the stuff that dreams are made of. It has 5% Glycolic Acid so it’s able to gently exfoliate your skin, remove dead skin cells and even out your skin tone - a great exfoliator to start with if you haven't tried chemical ones before. The lineup also features aloe vera and ginseng, which act to firm and tighten the skin. It's pretty easy to see why this is one of the best Pixi skincare products to add to your routine! Did we mention it's great for sensitive skin too?
How to use: After cleansing your skin, saturate a cotton pad with the exfoliating toner and sweep across the face, neck and decolletage. Follow with a serum and moisturiser, and enjoy your new beautiful glowing skin.
2. Pixi Glow Peel Pads
We can’t love this product enough. With 20% glycolic acid - a stronger version of the tonic - the Glow Peel Pads work to give you brighter and healthier skin over time. Glycolic acid (a common alpha hydroxy acid) can also help to minimise pores, breakouts and fine lines - which is why it’s a part of our regular routine. The pads also have vitamin E and aloe vera to soothe the skin.
How to use: Apply the pad to your face, neck and decolletage and leave for 2-3 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Also remember to use SPF after because glycolic acid is removing dead skin cells, and will leave it more sensitive.
3. Pixi Double Clean
So you might have heard on the beauty grapevine that you should be cleaning your face twice… well, it’s true! Cleaning your face once means removing only the initial layer of dirt and grime that has been building up on your face all day. So Pixi have made a special 2-in-1 Double Cleanse that features a solid cleansing face oil on one side and a luxe cleansing cream on the other - talk about the best Pixi skincare product of all time!
Oil facial cleansers are a godsend when it comes to breaking down makeup and sunscreen, and this is exactly what this one does. It has vitamin E, camellia oil and evening primrose oil to help protect and soothe the skin. The cream, on the other hand, will remove any remaining residues and prepares your skin for the rest of the routine. This particular one features a peptide complex to relax lines, plump and renew your skin.
How to use: Apply a coin-sized amount of the oil to dry skin and massage it in circular motions. Remove with a moist face cloth. Apply a coin-sized amount of cleansing cream onto skin, massage thoroughly and remove with a moist face cloth.
4. Pixi Glow Mist
We’re not going to lie, we love a good face mist. It’s an instant refresher in the morning and pick-me-up in the middle of the day. Luckily Pixi has us covered with their face mists. Our current favourite is the Glow Mist which has 13 natural oils mixed in with aloe vera to hydrate and protect your skin. You can use it to set makeup, adding a dewy finish for that ultimate glow. You can even use it on your hair!
We keep ours interchangeable with the other mists that Pixi have on offer. We love the Hydrating Milky Mist for when we’re feeling extra dry because it has hyaluronic acid, and the Vitamin Wakeup Mist for when we need our skin to be extra awake.
