Pureology (aka the best vegan hair care brand) just got a glow-up

So you know how at the start of every year, you tell yourself “new year, new me”? And how this is going to be *the* year? But then *that* year just happened to be 2020 and well...we all know how that went? Well, unlike some of us that may have skipped the gym a few extra times (🙋), Pureology have been hitting those new year resolutions hard.

The best vegan hair care brand we know and love has just undergone a major glow-up. With new sustainable packaging and a new mission, Pureology is redefining how we see beauty. We’re also getting in a bunch of their fabulous new hair care products, and we wanted to give you the low-down.

Overview:

Pureology’s glow-up

Born in California in 2001, Pureology has always been dedicated to creating the very best products for colour-treated hair. With purity and good health in mind, they pioneered the clean beauty movement - we’re talking 100% vegan formulas, zero sulfate shampoos and 100% recyclable bottles (made from 95% post-consumer recycled materials).

But now, 20 years later, they’ve just had the biggest transformation to date. So, what’s new? Beyond the new sustainable packaging and gorg branding, Pureology are re-imagining and re-defining beauty. They not only want to make women feel beautiful, but empowered. Hence their new mission - beauty with meaning.

Beauty with meaning

Pureology believes that beauty is much more than just what’s on the outside. They believe it’s within you, giving back, making a positive difference to the world, empowering and inspiring others and much much more. To bring this to life, they’re teaming up with a bunch of Aussie women to collaborate, uplift, inspire and educate.

What else makes them the best vegan hair care brand?

Before we get stuck into the must-try products, we wanted to obsess over Pureology just a little bit more. Alongside the amazing new mission and funky new packaging, is truly the star of the show - the products.

Every formula from Pureology is free from animal derived ingredients, doesn’t test on animals, and is 100% cruelty-free and vegan. With no sulfates, you can count on their range of shampoos to gently cleanse your hair without ever stripping the colour (thanks to a blend of corn, coconut and sugar). Their formulas not only protect your colour, but make it last longer and look more vibrant! Sunflower seed, a UV filter, and vitamin E also fight colour-depleting environmental effects while ensuring lasting shine.

Last but not least, every shampoo and conditioner is paraben-free, mineral oil-free and safe for you and the environment! Can you see why Pureology really is the best vegan hair care brand? So without further ado, here are the vegan products you should try (if you want super soft, shiny, beautiful and amazing hair, that is)!

The best vegan hair care products to try

For dull, colour-treated hair

The newest addition to our fam, Nanoworks Gold is a luxurious hair care system that renews softness, manageability and shine to dull (or very dry) colour-treated hair. It’s made with kervais and golden marula oil, and scented with ylang ylang, golden amber and dewy pear.

To create the perfect hair care routine for dull, dry hair, we recommend using both the Nanoworks Gold Shampoo and Nanoworks Gold Conditioner. The shampoo will gently cleanse your hair (without stripping it of its natural oils of course), while the conditioner will give it a major hydration boost and some serious nourishment.

For frizzy, colour-treated hair

If you’re struggling with frizzy hair, you can’t go past the Smooth Perfection range from Pureology. With an ingredient line-up of shea butter and camellia, Smooth Perfection is going to give you manageable, soft and gorgeous hair. And a bonus - this range smells like cocoa, marshmallow accord and wood (yum!).

To say goodbye to frizz forever, give your hair a cleansing reset with the Smooth Perfection Shampoo. Then follow up with the Smooth Perfection Conditioner for added shine, moisture and smoothness. And to further lock in that moisture and tame fly-aways, you need the Smooth Perfection Smoothing Lotion.

Finally, finish off your hair with the Smooth Perfection Smoothing Serum. This hair serum not only acts as a heat protectant, but it’ll give you lasting frizz control and silky smooth hair!

For dry hair

Hair feeling a little thirsty? You need Hydrate from Pureology. With thirst-quenching ingredients like jojoba, green tea and sage (and scents like lavender, bergamot and patchouli), it’s not hard to see why we love this range. Ideal for normal to thick dry, colour-treated hair, you won’t be able to stop touching your soft, silky locks after using this range.

For the softest (and most hydrated) hair of your life, start with the Hydrate Shampoo. Creamy and luxurious, it’ll give your hair a deep clean without stripping it. Next, use the moisturising Hydrate Conditioner!

To really give your hair a hit of hydration and goodness, follow up with either the Hydrate Superfood Treatment or Hydrate Soft Softening Treatment (a brand new product!). With ingredients like avocado and coconut oil in the Superfood Treatment, and shea butter and almond oil in the Softening Treatment, you can trust these hair treatments to deeply hydrate your hair.

Got dry hair that’s also fine? We got you. Opt for Pureology’s Hydrate Sheer Shampoo and Hydrate Sheer Conditioner. Super lightweight and yet incredibly moisturising, these hair care essentials will be your new go-to.
